- Husband and wife actors 迈克尔·塔克 and 吉尔·艾肯伯里, of L.A. Law (1986) fame, and who acted as producers of this film, were friends and neighbors of Emile Norman in Big Sur, California, and were the impetus behind Norman's participation in the making of the documentary on his life.
- Emile Norman died in a Monterey, California hospice on September 24, 2009, two years after the completion of this documentary, and less than one week after ceasing work on the creation of new art due to old age infirmity.
- Emile Norman's life partner, Brooks Clement, was with him for thirty years, from 1943 until Brooks' death from cancer in 1973.
